Hideo Kojima vinder 'Lifetime Achievement'

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES and METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN creator wins recognition accolade

Hideo Kojima, ground-breaking creator of Konami Digital Entertainment, B.V.’s METAL GEAR SOLID series, was honoured with a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ accolade at this year’s Golden Joysticks awards ceremony in London.

The Golden Joysticks are now in their 32nd year and are voted for by the readers of Future Publishing’s stable of magazines and websites, including the Official Xbox and PlayStation Magazines, Games Radar and Computer & Video Games. Over 9 million readers voted this year, with Mr Kojima receiving only the second ever ‘Lifetime Achievement’ prize.

The event closed with Mr Kojima accepting his award. Following a montage of the greatest gaming moments he has overseen, Mr Kojima was represented by a specially filmed acceptance speech from the Kojima Station studio, apologizing for being unable to attend due to development duties and expressing his gratitude for the award.
