Multi-consoles are always rather interesting, as they are consoles that have a basic function, but also have something extra bolted on. The most basic example of this is the MultiMega/CDX, that features playback of both Mega Drive/Genesis and Mega CD/Sega CD software. Basically the same features appears in the beautiful WonderMega, and its not-so-pretty stepsister, the Xeye.The Neptune would also fit in here, a Mega Drive/Genesis being able to play 32X games - but this unit was unfortunately never released. To finish off, the Panasonic Q has to be mentioned, as it is by many seen as the ultimate multi-console. It does not feature playback of several formats - only Game Cube games, and it is definitely not portable - but the design of this unit is enough to make it stand out from the rest. |
