Panasonic M2

At first, the M2 was to be a high capacity 64-bit add-on to the 3DO range of consoles. The concept was being developed by the same people that were behind the 3DO system, but in around 1994-1995, 3DO sold all the developed technology to Matsushita (Panasonic) at the astounding price of $ 100,000,000. Matsushita tried several time to incorporate the technology in their "multimedia systems" (advanced DVD players), but never had the support of developers or the faith in the market to go through with it.

Had the system come out, it would have crushed the PlayStation in terms of graphics and raw power, and who knows, maybe the M2 would have taken the place of the PlayStation in video game history.
