Gran Turismo 4 Music
The new Gran Turismo™ 4 (GT4) soundtrack presents another riff laden ride of music to race by. A diverse blend of beat-heavy rock, electronica and drum ‘n bass from all over the globe, the two hour GT4 Soundtrack won’t disappoint when the game launches on the PlayStation®2 in 2005.
This time the honour of accompanying the opening movie goes to the awesome single ‘Reason is Treason’ by Kasabian. Taken from their eponymous debut album, ‘Reason is Treason’ is a rude, guitar-riffed romp that snarls attitude – the ideal energiser to get players in the mood. Hailing from the North of England, Kasabian are rapidly making a name for themselves with their danceable rock and despite the fact that they were relatively unknown when they first signed for GT4, Kasabian have since exploded onto the scene.
Other highlight tracks on the rock end of the scale include the brilliant new classic rock band ‘Eagles of Death Metal’ (featuring Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age) with ‘I Only Want’. After their Gran Turismo 3 success, Feeder return with ‘Shatter’, a track from the 2005 album ‘Pushing the Senses’. Ready to break into the mainstream Norwegian band ‘Span’ have been working with the famous Gil Norton (producer for the Foo Fighters and the Pixies amongst others), and a very credible Swedish band ‘The Soundtrack of Our Lives’ are hotly-tipped as one to watch.
Meanwhile electronic head bobbing beats come courtesy of a Dave Clarke remix of the brilliant FischerSpooner track ‘Emerge’. The enigmatic DJ and producer Freq Nasty also contributes two tracks, ‘Fresh’ and ‘Amped’, while much lauded breakbeat master Bushwacka! also joins the dance music ranks with a remix of future dancefloor classic ‘Healer’.
